Rather, we get an El Primero twist on the panda and reverse-panda dial chronograph with a new ceramic bezel and a thoroughly modern movement at a starting price right around $9,500. Though it draws inspiration from classic El Primeros, as well as the under-appreciated Zenith De Luca, the Chronomaster Sport does not go too far with the vintage theme, fortunately. Bearing a likeness to a distant cousin in the Rolex Daytona, these two debut Chronomaster Sport pieces are all Zenith once you take a closer look and appreciate the watchmaking prowess behind it. Equipped with a modern version of its “Striking 10th” movement, which allows the user to measure time down to 1/10th of a second, the Chronomaster Sport leans into what makes the high-beat El Primero so special.Īs of late, the Zenith El Primero has been lacking options that land somewhere between the vintage-inspired Chronomaster Revival pieces and the highly contemporary, stylized Defy El Primero collection. What we have with the Zenith Chronomaster Sport is a luxury chronograph with an attractive mainstream design but a movement that will impress even the most jaded or seasoned watch enthusiast. Small seconds at 9 o'clock.Just released by Zenith is the brand new Chronomaster Sport, launching as a duo of ceramic bezel chronographs that feature the newly updated El Primero 3600 calibre.

Full rose gold a bit too much? There's also a new two-tone version with silver dial, of which you'll find the link below! The movement can be admired through the see-through case back. Not only is this a highly hypnotising sight, it also makes for accurate 1/10th of a second readings. The central chronograph hand makes one rotation every 10 seconds. But as you might know, this is not your ordinary chronograph movement. Inside the 2022 Zenith Chronomaster Sport Rose Gold ticks the El Primero 3600, a self-winding movement with chronograph. The lack of a contrasting black ceramic bezel makes for a slightly more traditional look, yet the watch is resolutely modern. The result? A lush and luxurious take on the Chronomaster Sport. Across the case and bracelet, the Chronomaster Sport is meticulously finished with satin-brushed and polished surfaces to bring out the warm radiance of the precious metal. The bezel, engraved with the signature 1/10th of a second scale, is made of the same material, as is the three-link bracelet. The 2022 Zenith Chronomaster Sport Rose Gold has the same 41mm case we've come to know, but now in full 18k rose gold. But for 2022 Zenith crowns the collection with the addition of two stunning full rose gold variations - including the bracelet and bezel! A rose gold version, again with a glossy black ceramic bezel, on leather strap followed not much later. The option of going with a stainless steel bracelet or a strap made for a total of four variations. An icon in the making!Īt its debut, the Chronomaster Sport was available stainless steel with a ceramic bezel, with either a black or white dial. In fact, it won the prestigious Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève “Chronograph” prize the same year. Bringing together various elements of Zenith's rich and storied chronograph archive, the Chronomaster Sport won over the hearts of enthousiasts, collectors and journalists alike. When the Zenith Chronomaster Sport was introduced in 2021, it was an instant hit.
